How to use OPAC
This cataloging system is used to locate library information resources including books and journal titles. OPAC searches provide information on what is in stock in the PIU library by providing the call number and the location of the material. OPAC also guides the user if the book is borrowed or is in the library. The OPACs accept, author names, titles and subject headings. Use the advanced search feature to help narrow in on what you are looking for.
Google Scholar is relatively simple to use and gives a good starting point for your research since it provides a wide array of scholarly research. However, Google Scholar is not comprehensive and does not provide the criteria for what makes it results “scholarly”.
Referencing is one of the most important aspects of academic research. Referencing must be done right with the required referencing method. The common methods of referencing are: APA, MLA, Harvard, Chicago among others. Use the recommended referencing style as directed by your research supervisor.
Plagiarism is the act of using another author’s work and presenting it as one’s own by not crediting the original author. Plagiarism checker such as Turnitin will help you ensure that you have cited research sources correctly.
